The national Chinese Women's squads have been invited to practice in Chandigarh at the invitation of ICC Special Adviser Inderjit Singh Bindra. The invitation came from Mr. Bindra when he was in China this August with ICC President Haroon Lorgat."We are honored and grateful that Mr. Bindra would ask us to come to India. It will be excellent preparation for the Asian Games," says Zhang Tian of the Chinese Cricket Association.
The Chinese players plus coach, former Indian captain Mamatha Maben will be in Chandigarh for three weeks, until November 4. During their time they will play regular cricket and train at the Punjab Cricket Academy on non-match days.
"It's a tremendous opportunity for the Chinese Women who have shown lots of promise, to be immersed in a cricket culture, a place where cricket is all around them, in the streets, on television, in the newspapers, is going to be a real eye-opener," says ACC Women's Committee Chairman Shubhangi Kulkarni

Mr. Bindra, in his capacity as President of the Punjab Cricket Association has also arranged access to the Chinese players to the One Day International between India and Australia at Chandigarh on November 2.
During his time in China earlier in the year, Mr. Bindra said "I have no doubt that China will be a force to reckon with in the very near future." China have automatic qualification into the women's Twenty20 event at the Asian Games in Guangzhou in November 2010 where the Asian Test-playing countries will have teams.
